Oregon Coast in February

It is about time that I created a new post. First of all, I am using a new template and this is my first post so I will be experimenting on look and format.

It was very stormy along the Oregon Cost over the last couple of weeks. Winds, rain, a little bit of snow, and some pretty heavy seas. The introductory picture is from a popular spot to take images of the surf pounding against the rocks of Cape Arago at Shore Acres State Park. As one can see from the Google Maps image, the cape has a West, Northwest exposure to the Pacific and during winter storms can get quite dramatic wave action as a later image will show.

Below is an image shot looking South from a different angle than normal and I was able to catch a large spray from a breaking wave. I estimate the size of the spray to be about 180 ft. One can get a sense of the size from the two people standing under the tree on the top center left.

The next two images were taken this last Sunday at Bullard State Park north of Bandon along the Coquille River. These are of the Coquille River Lighthouse and are some of my first with my new little tow, the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, which is a pretty incredible little device. The first image is a side shot and the second is of the lighthouse looking down the Coquille channel out into the Pacific.
