Yummy FTP
A lot of us need to upload images on a regular basis to our various stock web sites and it is tough to coordinate the preparation of the files and scheduling the upload. Furthermore, most of the ftp transfer protocols insist on grabbing all of the available bandwidth. This makes it almost impossible to do anything else while the upload is taking place. A lot of the ftp software focuses on their transfer speed. However, to achieve their transfer performance, they need to utilize all of the bandwidth. Wanting to be able to read my emails while transferring files, I looked around and discovered Yummy FTP (http://www.yummysoftware.com/). While the interface may not be the greatest, it is significantly better than any of the other ftp software options I have used. But most importunely for me, it allows me to throttle the upload speed of the program so that I can work on the internet while I am transferring files. It may take a little longer for the files to get there, but now I do not have to abandon my computer for yard work.
