February rains

t has been amazingly windy, rainy and stormy along the Oregon Coast this winter. Over the last several days we have seen constant rain, hail and wind to up around 35 mph. Earlier in the month I believe there were gusts to as much as 50 mph. Of course the weather Oregon gets is related to the weather that California has been getting. A recent report from Leon Turnbull Waterfalls West has most of California around 200% above average rainfall so far for this year. This is good news for that area hit by years of drought. I was going to add some information about our local weather, but trying to figure that out was going to take longer than I wanted to spend on the project. From looking at the NOAA precipitation map we are around 70 inches of rain so far this year or around normal. Huh, that surprises me.
