Flypaper Textures

Thanks to the Julieanne Kost's Blog , I discovered Flypaper Textures, a creative way of doing something different to an otherwise ok image; an image that you like but just doesn't seem to have that artistic punch that you want. Flypaper has an very interesting array of various textures that one can play around with, either using them as an "overlay" in the Photoshop or in some other type of blend mode. The every creative Russell Brown also created a video and texture panel for the taster Flypaper set which can be downloaded for free here (http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/2012/03/russell-browns-texture-panel.html)While in Pennsylvania this last fall, I was out wondering the countryside on an early foggy morning and captured the image below of the sun burning through the fog layer. While I really like this image it did not seem to have to need something a little different to give it that special creative edge. In this case, I added Flypaper's Demi Jour texture along with a couple of other tweaks to create the more artistic rendering at the top of the page.Flypaper's textures have the ability to add fun and a certain sui generis and I find that they work best with simple subjects. Below is a water fountain from the French town of Eze with Herculaneum Pumice texture added from the TexBox1 set. I think the texture adds something to the aged fountain. The textures also help add ambiance to party images. Here I used the Lamp White Brush texture. One last example. there are thousands of tulip images. Here is one with the Beau Linge Paysage texture added to create something different.
