Lowlight Coquille River on a cloudy morning

Coquille River and lighthouse The nice thing about photography is that one can utilize almost any type of weather to their advantage. Because I have wanted to play around with lowlight photography with the goal of blurring wave action as much as possible, I have looked forward to some cloudy, overcast morning with which to work with the various opportunities the local area offers. On this particular morning, we had a combination of a high tide and high surf to create a very nice blurred action of the waves breaking over the rocks in the Coquille River opposite the Coquille Lighthouse.I love to convert images to black and white, but very rarely use sepia toning on images but I think the effect works well with this type of picture. The nice thing about Nik Software's  Color Efex Pro filter is that one can control the level of the color applied.
